Hi there. I'm Mary Beth Temple and I'm a big fan of Tunisian crochet. A lot of people when they begin, Tunisian crochet find their stitching to be a little tight and there's two tips. I'm gonna give you to fix that. The first one is, use a bigger hook than you think you need.
If you traditionally use a specific size for a specific weight of yarn, you're going to want to go up at least one hook size, maybe two. The other thing is when you're learning to stitch, particularly, you tend to work too close to the throat of the hook. So make sure when you're doing your forward passes and you're picking up your stitches, especially if you're using a bigger hook that when you pick up that stitch, you're making sure that it goes all the way up onto the fattest part of the hook and you're not working too closely to the throat.
