Join Brenda K.B. Anderson for a LIVE crochet workshop on Tuesday, March 21st at 11:30 a.m. CT/12:30 p.m. ET. Learning to crochet can seem like a struggle at times, but that is the feeling of taking a risk and trying something new! Just like any new venture, when you start to catch on, you will feel that sense of accomplishment and you will be excited to go further and learn more! This cowl was designed for those who want to learn to crochet. I chose four easy stitch patterns that build off one another as the cowl progresses. You might think that working in the round (in a tube shape) would be challenging, but once you make that first round, you will see how straightforward and simple it really is! Welcome to the club, friend – you can do it!

Fall Harvest Cowl
Reminiscent of cornfields ready for harvest, parallel ridges run the length of this cowl, narrowing as they flow across the back neck for effortless styling – no primping needed!

Thrum Lovin’ Mittens
Thrumming is a technique, more common in knitting, in which bits of un-spun fleece are incorporated into your project every couple of stitches as you are crocheting. This creates a fluffy, incredibly warm lining on the inside of your project, as well as cute little hearts that decorate the outside. This method of thrumming is developed specifically for use with single crochet stitches, and although it takes a bit of extra time to add the thrums, it is so worth it!
