Brenda K.B. Anderson
Duration:   1  hrs 9  mins

Colorwork is not just for knitters, nor does it need to have that “traditional” look. This happy project turns colorwork on its head with its bright colors and oversized houndstooth pattern and is just oozing retro 80’s/90’s vibes! If you have never worked in tapestry crochet before, this is the perfect project for learning the basics! This bag features an optional fabric lining for extra stability, zipper, and adorable heart charm just for fun. Click here to download the free pattern!

Finished Measurements
Bag measures about 8.5” x 6.25” [21.5 cm x 16 cm]

The oversized houndstooth pattern can be found in Brenda's new book, The Hooktionary: A crochet dictionary of 150 modern tapestry crochet motifs, available on Amazon and Target.

I just purchased the book and I have never used tapestry crochet although I love mosaic crochet. I would love to see more tapestry toots…

Thanks Brenda! :) Love the sweater you're wearing. Is that pattern in your new book?

I thought of something that can help keep track of what line of stitches you’re working on. Use a metal clip board and a long strip of a magnet sheet that has a long cut inside, like a window, cut the size of one stitch line. Put your page on the clipboard and put the magnetic window over the stitch line you’re working on. I feel this will keep on on track.

Can you stitch the zipper on using a sewing machine?
