The Swell Socks by Karen Whooley are a fun toe-up sock pattern. A basic foot with a heel flap and gusset construction, that then moves on to a fun yet simple ripple stitch leg that gives the socks interest. Using a self-striping yarn really makes the ripple pop, but it would be fantastic in almost any tonal yarn as well. These socks are so fast to make too – make them in less than a weekend!

This beginner-friendly sock pattern calls for 300 to 470 yards (depending on size) of fingering weight yarn and a Size 3.0 mm crochet hook.
